Itinerary

Day 1Delhi to Shimla (140 Kms/04 Hrs)

On your arrival at the Delhi Airport or Delhi Railway station, we shall arrange for a smooth pickup and transfer to Shimla. On the way, stop to visit two major tourist attractions and let the fun and excitement begin from Day 1 itself.

Pinjore Garden: This beautiful garden can easily be termed as Asia’s most gorgeous garden built at the foothills of Himalayas with the mystic Shivalik ranges overlooking from a distance. It is a Mughal-style built garden in terraced form.

Timber Trail: It is a beautiful and unique hotel elegantly perched in the folds of the Shivalik Ranges in Parwanoo at the Himachal Pradesh and Haryana border. Timber Trail Heights presents a refreshing escapade from the hustle and bustle of city and yet is not too far away from city. Timber Trail Heights has luxury, beauty and also serenity and excitement.

On arrival at Shimla around evening, check in to the hotel, have a sumptuous dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2Excursion to Kufri

The day marks the excitement of Kufri excursion. After breakfast get ready for a day visit to Kufri. Kufri has various attractive tourist destinations. Kufri calls for a half-day trip. It is situated about 20 kms away from the Shimla city centre.

  • Himalayan National Park or the Himalayan Wildlife Zoo is a major attraction for kids and it contains animals from the deer and cat family along with several bird species.
  • Enjoy the Pony and Yak Ride. The highest point of Kufri is reachable only by pony ride and the muddy meandering track uphill provides enough adventure for a day.
  • Kufri offers a beautiful view of the endless Himalayan Panorama spread all around.

After lunch continue with Shimla sightseeing of various places in and around.

  • Viceregal Lodge was the summer residence of the Indian Viceroy during the British Rule. It was built way back in 1885 and exhibits some very ancient British literature and photos and definitely makes for an interesting visit.
  • Christ Church built in 1844 is the second oldest Church in Northern India. It is built in the Neo-Gothic style and has a stunning presence on account of its outstanding architectural design. It is unique and its silhouette dominates the Shimla sky-line.
  • The Gaiety Theatre was opened for public for the first time in 1887 on May 30. This ancient building too depicts a Gothic style architecture and Victorian finesse. It is known for housing the performances of many industry stalwarts such as Rudyard Kipling, Prithvi Raj Kapoor, Baten Powel and K. L. Sehgal.
  • The Ridge can undoubtedly be identified as the most popular tourist point in Shimla and is located on the bustling Mall road. It is situated at the city centre and tourists and travellers love and enjoy taking walks and relaxing at The Ridge. The point offers stunning views and plenty of pleasant sunshine.
  • The Mall Road of Shimla is a shopper’s paradise and has hundreds of tourists flocking in and around every day buying exquisite local handicrafts, woollen shawls, colourful caps and sweater, stoles and carpets, exquisite jewellery and a lot more.

Day 3Shimla to Manali (265 Kms/08 Hrs)

After grabbing an early morning breakfast, you check out of the Shimla hotel to depart for the snow kingdom of Manali. On the way to Manali, stop over to visit various interesting sites.

Pandoh Dam is a picturesque dam built across the River Beas and offers a tranquil place to camp, relax, raft, boat and enjoy with family. It has sparkling green waters that reflect the beauty around. This serene nature paradise is located 10 kms away from Manali.

Hanogi Mata Temple in the Kullu district is a sacred shrine set against a serene and beautiful mountain backdrop. It overlooks the widely stretching valleys from the hilltop. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Mata Hanogi and is a favourite religious haunt. A quaint stream runs beside the temple that adds to the beauty of the temple settings.

On arrival at Manali immediate check in at the hotel. Have a peaceful and relaxing dinner and retire to rooms for an overnight stay at the Manali hotel of your choice.

Day 4Manali Local Sightseeing

This day marks the happy sightseeing of the beautiful Himalayan paradise of Manali. After breakfast sightseeing of places in and around Manali. Be a wondrous witness of the lush green valleys and the magnificence of the never-ending snow-capped ranges beyond. Spend the day visiting the interesting Hadimba Temple dedicated to Hidimba Devi, Manu Temple dedicated to the Sage Manu, Vashisht Bath for a healing bath, Van Vihar to spot some rare flora and fauna, Tibetan Monastery for a peep into the authentic Tibetan culture and the Club House for an entertaining time. Conclude the day with an exciting evening shopping at the local market on the bustling Mall Road. To add zing to your day indulge in adventure activities such as skiing, paragliding, rock climbing, rafting, camping and a lot more. Day 5Rohtang Pass (100 Kms Round Trip)

Today is the day of adventurous excursion to the mythically famed Rohtang Pass. It is strategically important for being the gateway to the starkly beautiful Lahual and Spiti Valleys. Situated at a mighty altitude of 3979 metres above sea level and at a distance of about 51 kms from Manali on the Manali-Keylong Highway, Rohtang Pass offers stunning panoramic view of the mountains. It is a paradise for nature enthusiasts and adventure sports lovers. Enjoy skating, paragliding, snow scootering and skiing. Return back to the hotel by evening. After a sumptuous dinner and settle for an overnight stay at the Manali Hotel.

Day 6Manali to Dharmshala (280 Kms/10 Hrs)

After breakfast, proceed for a check out from the Manali hotel. Immediate arrangement for Dharamshala departure. On the way, visit the popular Kullu Vaishno Devi Temple to offer prayers and seek blessings. Also visit the Kullu Shawl Weaving Centre and pick up some lovely and warm shawls from your friends and dear ones.

On reaching Dharamshala check in at the hotel of your choice. Rest of the day at leisure. You would be too tired to do anything much. Explore the property and have an early dinner followed by an overnight stay at the Dharamshala hotel.

Day 7Dharmshala (Sightseeing)

After breakfast, proceed for a guided tour of the Dharamshala City. Among the local tourist attractions visit the following for a complete experience of Dharamshala

  • Dalai Lama Temple is a nice, serene and cosy temple with picturesque settings where you can indulge in prayers, meditation, turning prayer wheels, enjoying the books in the library and tasting the romance of Tibetan culture and art.
  • Namgyal Monastery, established in 1992, is the seat of Dalai Lama and other Buddhist monks who reside and pray here. The monastery holds regular sessions that you can witness and participate and feel the power and peace of meditation. Rotate the prayer wheels and chant the Buddhist mantras.
  • Enjoy the joyous beauty of nature by visiting Dal lake, Bhagsu Nag Temple, Gyuto Monastery, St. John Church and Naddi view point.

In the evening, go for an exciting shopping adventure at the Mall Road. You can venture out into the Kotwali Bazaar or the Jogiwara Road Street market and shop for beautiful and colourful mementos such as miniature Tibetan flags, prayer wheels, junk jewellery, Buddha statues of various colour, texture and design, exquisite handicrafts and much more.

Day 8Dharmshala to Dalhousie (145 Kms/05 Hrs)

After breakfast, proceed for an onward journey to Dalhousie across the wide green valleys and blue and white snowy and cloudy mountains. Traverse through the dreamy and heavenly beauty of Himalayan ranges and enjoy the thrill of the winding mountain roads. On arrival at Dalhousie we shall arrange for a prompt and smooth check in at the hotel of your choice. Evening will be at leisure shopping and exploring the property where you are staying. Visit the Mall Road to buy. Overnight stay at the hotel of your choice at Dalhousie.

Day 9Dalhousie – Chamba – Khajjiar

From Dalhousie explore the close-by prominent tourist destinations. After breakfast, proceed to visit the exciting point of Kalatop covered by a rich mountain pine and conifer vegetation and the winding mountain paths and if luck may have it encounter a chance rare Himalayan bird or feline species apart from the abundant deer and birds and monkeys.

Also visit the grand and cool beautiful meadows of Khajjiar and get the feel of being in Switzerland even in India. The glen has thick and rich cover of vegetation and is surrounded by magnificent hills and forests of cedar, birch, pine, deodar and spruce.

Next visit the temple land of Holy Chamba spread on the banks of River Ravi. It is famous for its brilliant and popular temples such as the Chamunda Devi Temple, the Lakshmi Narayan Temple and the Bajreshwari Temple. Also visit the interesting Bhuri Singh Museum to see the local handicrafts. After an eventful day of sightseeing, drive back to the Dalhousie hotel for a tasty dinner spread and overnight stay.

Day 10Dalhousie to Delhi (320 Kms/08 Hrs)

The last of the trip! Thus check out from the Dalhousie Hotel after morning breakfast. We shall arrange for a smooth transfer or drop you at the Delhi Airport or Delhi Railway station for your journey back home.
