Chail Wildlife Sanctuary

Chail Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for its various endangered bird species and several large mammal species. This place is frequented by the honeymoon couples who visit Shimla in search of some solitude and closeness to nature. The sanctuary is covered by thick forest of pine and oak trees and an enthralling wide-angle view of the Himalayan Himachal. The Chail Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across an area of about 110 square kilometres. Fascinating species of rhesus macaque, leopards, Indian muntjac, Himalayan black bear, wild boar, langur and other monkey species, sambar along with other breeds of the dear family and black naped hare can be seen.
