About 22 kilometres from Shimla is the picturesque Naldehra Golf Course, which is reminiscent of Scottish links courses. This par-68, 4285-yard course has 18 holes, 16 greens, and 18 tees. This golf course, one of the oldest in India, was built in the early 1900s under the direction of Lord Curzon, a former viceroy of India. It initially featured 9 holes.
The golf course at Naldehra, which is 2,200 metres above sea level, is one of the most difficult in the nation. It is encircled on all sides by innumerable Deodar trees and spans a length of sloping glade. Lord Curzon gave the name Alexandra Naldehra to his third daughter because he was enchanted by the golf club’s unending beauty.
A chic club house with three double rooms and a cosy drawing room is located inside the golf course’s limits. Club house reservations are available to both members and non-members.
