Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the most popular hill-stations in India and had enjoyed prominence ever since the British Raj when it was the summer capital of India and the British high officials spent the summer months in the breezy cool environs of Shimla. Shimla was declared the summer capital of British India in 1864.
Take a cosy breezy walk across the streets of Shimla and linger in the haunts of the hill while you soak in the wonderful old-world charm of this partly sleepy and partly buzzing hill-station. Treat your eyes to the beauty and grandeur of the iconic Town Hall, and the Gothic building of the Gaiety Theatre. The sojourn won’t be having a single dull or drab moment. As you skirt through the hill roads, a whole new Himachal way of life would unfurl before your eyes and will definitely make your vacation memorable. Plan early and book a tour to this mountain destination to have some memorable moments and joyful experiences.
Arrival at Manali. Check-in at the hotel of your choice. Exploring the property of stay. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner at hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel. (Optional: A leisure walk to the Mall Road in the evening to buy some trinkets, woollens, junk jewellery and other curious stuff and taste the local cuisine.
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of places in and around Manali such as Hadimba temple, Manu temple, Vashisht Bath, Van Vihar, Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa Monastery, Von Ngari Monastery, Club House and a visit to the Old Manali to catch up with some amazing snacks and coffee at the cafes there. Sumptuous dinner. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Excursion to Rohtang Pass, the adventurer’s paradise. Situated at an altitude of 3979 metres above sea level and around 51 kms from Manali, the mighty Rohtang Pass is a must visit. It is considered the gateway to Lahaul and Spiti valleys. It offers a wide panoramic view of the pristine, snow-clad mountains. Here one sees the majesty of the mountains at its height and splendour. Enjoy the chilling cool mountain breeze at the mountain top and watch the frozen snow glitter as the sunrays get reflected. At a distance, one can view the daintily herringboned ridges into the Lahaul valley. Visit the Solang Valley en route and enjoy the wide variety of winter sports. Come back to hotel after a tiring but joyful day of sightseeing and enjoy a lavish dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Optional: For the extra thrill seekers, one can attempt paragliding while coming back from Rohtang at the Solang Valley.)
After breakfast, proceed towards the Manikaran Gurudwara famed for its hot water springs. A full day excursion with a dip at the therapeutic waters and enjoying the enchanting view of the mountain ranges. Enjoy ‘Langar’ meal lunch at the Gurudwara. Stop en route at Kasaul and Kullu-Shamshi famous for Kullu shawls. Overnight stay at the Manali hotel.
After breakfast in the Morning, check out hotel. Some leisure time for personal activities and thereby proceed for your home.
